Day 1. Pereira:
Arrival in the city of Pereira, Assistance at Matecaña International Airport, and Transfer to the Hotel for the respective check-in. Accommodation.
Day 2. Pereira - Interactive Experience at a Coffee Farm
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, the tour will begin to one of the coffee farms in the region. Upon arrival at the designated Farm, the interactive tour begins accompanied by a local expert taking tourists through beautiful special coffee plantations, explaining the coffee process from planting, selective manual harvesting, and pulping. During the tour, there are several stations with viewpoints where we can appreciate the beautiful landscape and natural surroundings of the place. Finally, we move on to the innovative coffee bean drying process and then to the processing, threshing, and toasting; ending up at the main house where we will have a coffee tasting and barista demonstration to enjoy a cup of the best coffee in the world. Return to the hotel. Accommodation. Includes: Private transportation, professional tourism guide in Spanish, interactive Coffee process, assistance by expert staff at the Hacienda, typical lunch. (Coffee Farm or Hacienda Morelia depending on availability). Duration: 5 hours approx. Optional Lunch Supplement: USD 20 per person.
Day 3. Pereira - Filandia - Salento and Cocora Valley
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, the tour will start towards the typical town of Filandia. There, we will tour its colonial streets, visit the Quindío viewpoint. Additionally, you will have a gastronomic experience of a drink and dessert at a local restaurant. Then, transfer to the Cocora Valley appreciating the beautiful landscape of the place. Upon arrival at the Valley, we will have a welcome cocktail (Canelazo) and assistance from a specialized ecoguide from Cocora, who will introduce us to the Cocora Natural Reserve. Walking, transfer to the cloud forest where we can appreciate the biodiversity of fauna and flora of the place where we will take the ecological trail of the tallest wax palm in the world and national emblem tree where we will perform the ritual of the wax palm of Quindío, which consists of knowing the history of how the natives worshipped this palm, then we will continue with the planting of palm seedlings. Subsequently, transfer to the typical town of Salento where we will have a Walking tour visiting its colonial streets. Return to the hotel. Accommodation. Duration: Approximately 7 hours. Includes: Professional tourism guide in Spanish, private transportation, gastronomic experience in Filandia, and entrances to mentioned places. Optional lunch supplement: USD 20 per person. Note: Quindío viewpoint closed every Monday, or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday in Colombia.
Day 4. Pereira - Next destination
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, assistance and transfer to Matecaña International Airport to take the flight (not included) to the next destination.
